MATTHEW 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. MATTHEW 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
MARK 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. MARK 10:22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
LUKE 16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. LUKE 16:24 he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. LUKE 16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. LUKE 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
JOSHUA 3:3 And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it. JOSHUA 3:4 Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore. JOSHUA 3:5 And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
“You're going to follow somebody. You can remember that. You're going to
follow somebody. And the way you
follow the person, be sure that, who this person is
following. See?
Paul one time said, "Be followers of me as I am of Christ." In other
words, "Just as I
follow Christ, you
follow me." And now, at this turning point, this--this stage of life where we all
come.”

“Notice, he knew It was there. He believed in It and wanted It. But when he was confronted with how he had to do it, it was different from his ritual. It was different. He could hold his money and belong on to the church that he belonged to, and so forth. But Jesus knew that, and knew that he had hoarded this money, and He said, "
Go sell all you got, and give it to the poor. And come, take up your cross and follow me, and you'll have treasures in Heaven." But he couldn't do it. The other leaders that he had in his youthful days, had such an influence on him till he refused to accept God's provided Way, which was Jesus Christ; the only One who holds Eternal Life, the only One that can give you It. Not the church can give you Eternal Life; not your neighbor; not your pastor; not your priest; not your creed; only Jesus Christ Himself can give you Eternal Life. He's the... No matter how good you are, what you quit doing, what you start doing, you've got to accept the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. And then when you do that,
He is the Word, and then your life fits right in the Word and it manifests itself to this age that you're living in.”

[John 17:3]“And you notice, when he said, "Father Abraham," now, he still remembered that Abraham was the father of the Jews. He said, "Father Abraham, send that beggar Lazarus down here with a little water on his fingers, to put on my lips. These flames are tormenting," he said. And Abraham said, "It's, I can't do that," in so many
words. "And besides all this, you see, you had your opportunity in life."
When did he have it? When Jesus said, "Follow me." But he turned it down. He went the way that he could make money. And that's all right, nothing wrong with making money, but follow Jesus while you're doing it. See? And he had went the other way, with the crowd. And you find out, he said, and Abraham said, "
And besides all this, there's a gulf fixed between you and he, that no man has ever crossed over, and never will. Them that are there cannot come here, and these here cannot go there. It's been fixed. No man has crossed or will cross."”

[Luke 16:23-31]“When you surrender fully, He'll come in fully. But until you surrender, He can't come in fully.
Surrender. Surrender your thoughts. Surrender your thinking. Surrender your life. Surrender your all. Surrender your prestige. Surrender everything to Him now, and He'll come in and fill you with the Holy Ghost. That's what He's here to do. He's already struck two or three here in the building. There's more than that, wanting the Holy Ghost. Just keep believing. Glory to God! Either right or wrong...?... Humble your own thinking. Humble your own ways.”

“Now, we find out that Joshua, right at that time, he prayed. And the Lord told him that what would happen. And he had a V-day. He over
come. Then, when he over
come the river and got on the other side, what did he do? He put the
ark... Which,
the Word was in the ark. He put that first. Then the singers, and so forth, come behind it. But the ark went forth, first. When Israel went to battle, the first thing went forth was singers.
And singers went forth, singing. Then they blowed trumpets, and so forth. Then the ark moved up. Then, when the ark moved up, then they set the ark down, and the--the battle started. Notice. But now, in this, when Joshua took the
Word first, and put the
Word first, he crossed down.
And God had told him, "As I was with Moses, so I'll be with you. I'll not fail you. I'll be with you. No man is going to stand before you, all the days of your life. I'm going to be right there. Don't fear what's going to take place. I'll be right there." Then what, with a commission like that, what could Joshua do but put the
Word first? Amen. There you are. With a commission from God,
put the Word first. And it brought a V-day. Oh, it's got to
come.”

[Joshua 3:3-5]“Stay behind the Word, now, let the Guide lead you. "He will guide you into all Truth, and reveal these things that I've talked to you about. He'll show you that. He'll tell you things that is to come," the true Guide. Don't go to the bishop; go to the Guide.
Don't go to anyone but the Guide. He's the One that was sent to guide you. He's the One that'll do it. God has provided you a Guide. Take God's provided way.”

	“That's the trouble today.
We try to get ahead of the Word, and bypass, and make the Word to fit this, and the Word to fit that. Bless your hearts. What we need today is, follow the Word. The
Word led the way. When it got to the Jordan, she opened up and they went over. His first campaign, he put first things first. He had a reason for that. He had a reason,
because God had commissioned him, "Stay with the Word. Let the Word do it." Every campaign, they went forth in the battle, because God had charged him to put the ark first. After the
ark went forth, what went forth then? Singing, players of instruments, before the fight took place. Hallelujah. That's what we need today; it's what we had this morning: singers, instruments, playing music, rejoicing. Then put the
Word first, read the
Word. Then the battle sets in. We're bound to win, just got to win. Stay right with It, keep Its directions, and It'll keep you in the hour of trouble.”
[60-0911M As I Was With Moses So I Will Be With Thee, Jeffersonville IN], [Joshua 3:3-5]“And when he had to depart with what he had, to have Eternal Life, then the question was at the gate, where you can make it.
And that question lays before every one of us. And Jesus really asked him to forsake all he had, take up his cross, and follow Him. And we know the story. "He went away sorrowful, because he had great riches." Then Jesus turned, and said, "How hard it would be for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, like a camel to go through the eye of a needle.
But that would be impossible with man, but," He said, "with God it's not impossible."”
