October 2013 Newsletter: Being Fully Persuaded
“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. ” [Romans 4:21]
“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” [II Timothy 1:12]
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised ;).” [Hebrews 10:22-23]
“Now, we read here: And being fully persuaded that... he was able to keep that which he had promised. If God has made a promise, God will keep that promise. "Being fully persuaded that that what He promised, He was able to perform." God keeps His promise. And Abraham was fully persuaded. No matter how ridiculous it looked to the carnal mind or anyone else, it looked all right to Abraham, because Abraham never looked at so much at what the promise was, or how ridiculous it was, he looked at Who gave the promise. It depends on what you're looking at.” [El Shaddai, Los Angeles CA, 59-0416]
“Your word is a part of you. Your promise is just as good as you can be. And God's promise is just as good as He can be. Now, as being a mortal, you can make a promise and have to break it, because you're just a mortal. I'm just a mortal. But God being immortal, and infinite, and omnipotent, omnipresent, He makes a statement, and He knows the end from the beginning. And He can keep it. Abraham called those things which were not as though they were, because he was fully persuaded that what God had promised, God was able to perform. 'Cause He would have never made the promise, unless He knew what was going to be. See how we can rest upon His Word then? No matter how hard the storm blows, what's contrary to it? Rest solemnly upon the Word. God said it Who seen the other side of the storm. See? So, if you're sick just anchor your soul in the haven of rest. If you're perplexed and distressed, remember, He said, "I'll be with you always, even to the end of the world." And He's per--He said, "All things will work together for good to them that love the Lord." So, just stay right there. One man wrote, a poet wrote, "My anchor holds within the veil." What is a veil? It's something that shuts off here from there. And the anchor is on the inside of the veil. You don't see how it's going to be. But you know that there's something that's got ahold of you that's got ahold up there.” [Joseph Meeting His Brethren, Jeffersonville IN, 56-1230]
“We are Abraham's seed, for we being dead in Christ, we are--take on Abraham's seed and are heir with him under the same sworn promise. We are Abraham's seed and are heirs of every promise that was given him. But when the testings come, that's where we fail. But I don't believe that the true seed of Abraham will fail, they'll stand just as gallant and loyal as Abraham did.” [Possessing The Enemy's Gates, Jeffersonville IN, 59-1108]
“Got up to the top of the hill, rolled up the rock, put the wood on the rocks, and lit it with the fire. Said, "Isaac, my son, turn around." He took the string from around his waist, and bound his hands and his feet. Isaac, obedient as Christ was to death, laid him up on the block. Reached down in his sheath and pulled out the big knife, honed it a few times, looking up towards the sky. He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strong, knowing that he had received him as one from the dead: fully persuaded that if God said so, for him to do it, He could raise him up from the dead. That's Abraham, and that's his seed after him. If that was the natural seed, what ought the royal Seed to be? Not staggering. What God said, God will do. Knowing that he was fully persuaded, that what God had promised, God was able to do.” [Jehovah Jireh 3, Grass Valley CA, 62-0707]
“You must be fully persuaded and be persistent. Then you're perseverant. And--and now, it's--it's a good word. I like it. I'm very fond of that fine word: perseverant. And I think that's the attitude that all Christians should be in at all times. Be perseverant. And men through all ages that has faith in what they are trying to achieve, has always been perseverant. All down through the history of time, men that's ever done anything has been men trying to achieve something. And they have to have faith in what they're trying to achieve, and when they do, then they are perseverant.” [Perseverance, Chicago IL, 62-0520
“God speaks His Word, His children believes it and God. The science cannot prove how it can be done; they know nothing about it. But the children believe it, anyhow, and then God performs a paradox, makes it so. Makes it so, because His Word that spoke the world into existence, can bring, can make every word, that He ever promised, come to pass. That's why Abraham staggered not at the promise of God, through unbelief, but was fully persuaded that He was able to perform and to keep what He said He would do. He staggered not at the promise of God, being a hundred years old, and Sarah ninety, to have this baby. Because that he knowed that God could perform and (make) have a paradox to happen on something, a miracle to take place, and He did it.” [A Paradox, Chicago IL, 63-0801]
“He did in that age just as He did in all ages, and like He will do, just as He promised to do. God promises anything, then He comes down and proves His Word to be right. All that believe, all that believe the Message of that age, come in and was saved. So will it be in any age. All who did not believe the Message and the messenger, perished. And all who truly believe the Word of God today, will be taken out. All that does not believe the Word of God, will perish with the world, 'cause they are of the world, and everything that's in the world must perish with the world. And everything that's saved in God, must be in God, and cannot perish, "I'll give them Eternal Life, and raise them up at the last day." Now, what a consolation to every believer, to know, when you're in Christ, that just as sure as God keeps His Word and perishes the world, He keeps His Word and raises up His people and saves them. He proves it.” [Proving His Word, Jeffersonville IN, 64-0816]
“"But I know Who I have believed, and I'm fully persuaded He's able to keep that which I've committed to Him against that day." Hallelujah. Sure, you got the promise of God, "He that believeth in Me, though be were dead, yet shall he live. Whosoever liveth and believeth in Me, shall never die. These signs shall follow them that believe." We have the promise, God's Word. It's a comfort to us to stay with God's Word.” [The Comforter, Jeffersonville IN, 61-1001E]
“He met Abraham before the written Word, and He said, "Abraham, I'm going to give you a son by your wife, Sarah." And she was sixty-five years old at that time, and Abraham was seventy-five. And they made ready for it, and he wasn't ashamed to testify. He knowed he was going to have the son. 1And the Bible said, "He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief, but was fully persuaded." Amen. Fully persuaded, that means that he's met the ultimate. Amen. That's it. The ultimate is the end of the road. It's the last thing. It's--it's all of it. He said, "I'm fully persuaded that, what God promised, God is able to perform." Are you, tonight, are you fully persuaded that this is the Holy Ghost? Are you fully persuaded, this is the way? Are you fully persuaded, He's a Healer? Are you fully persuaded that He's coming again? Are you fully persuaded He's the same yesterday, today, and forever?.” [A Trumpet Gives An Uncertain Sound, Phoenix AZ, 63-0114]
