Deborah Patterson from United States

Let me introduce myself and my family. My name is Deborah Myers Patterson. My family ,whether it is immediate or extended family is Myers, Ungren, Downing and Simpson. My families have attended Bro. Branham's meetings since the 1950's. My family is the one he referred to in Tennessee so many times on tape by name or being from Tennessee.

I was born in 1961 with cancer, one kidney did not work at all and the other was not functioning correctly and to it's full potential. I was dying is what my parents were told by doctor's. My parents wanted to take me to one of the meetings to be prayed for and the doctors and the hospital was not going to allow it. Thank God my parents did not listen to what man had to say, so they signed forms releasing the hospital of any ramifications. The staff, doctors and an aunt (non-believer) told them that they were "taking my life in their hands". I disagree they were just putting it in the hands of God.

I was prayed for by Bro. Branham. When they came back to Memphis they took me to the doctor and hospital and they could not find anything at all. To this day the pediatrician says "I am a walking miracle of God". He still is the families baby doctor. I was dedicated on the tape "True Easter Seal" 61-0204 just a few months after I was healed.

"Now, let me get... Look just like this is a little fellow. The name? Deborah Myers. Little Deborah Myers, she's bright-eyed this morning. Let us bow our heads. Heavenly Father, we bring to You little Deborah Myers; we pray Your blessings upon the child as we dedicate her to the Lord, as the father and mother now presents her, and in commemoration of our Lord Jesus Who blessed the little ones and said, "Suffer them to come unto Me." We give to You little Deborah for a life of service, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen. "[The True Easter Seal, JEFF IN, 61-0402]

To this day I have several memories of Bro. Branham at meetings preaching and him praying for me in the house that he rented in Tucson on Park Ave. they are so burned into my mind that I can tell anyone of how the furniture was in that house and what Bro. Branham was wearing. I had a doll with me that day that had red hair that he named "carrot top". Needless to say that it is one of my most cherished things I own.

"And I--I see Brother Ungren, but I--I can't see Sister Ungren anywhere, whether she is all right now. Yes, sitting right out from him. Sure. Yeah. I'm glad. Cause we was called out the other night, in a... just a emergency case of her and her daughter, Sister... I... Downing, Downing. Run off the road, and just the grace of God, or they would both have been crushed to pieces right there. And here they come right on to church, got on a train and come on. [Christ Is The Mystery Of God Revealed, JEFF IN, 63-0728]

Bro. Branham also married my sister Sharon (he called her Cheryl) to Bill Simpson in 1963 and referred to them on tape- The Absolute 12/1/63. He also married my brother Gordon Myers to Shirley Mitchell in our home in Tucson in 1965. When he married my brother, my parents had moved furniture around in our home and when he got there he rearranged it. There was a reason for this, he wanted them looking at him where they would be facing the East. Remember how often he said "look to the East"?

"We just had a wedding, downstairs. Two of my children got married, and my children from the tabernacle; our little Billy Simpson and the little Myers girl, they had been sweethearts for some time; Sharol, yes. They were... They also are relative here, or the little Sharol Myers is, to Brother Ungren and them. So, we are happy for them, I see they've taken their place, after getting married, go right back in the auditorium of the church, and sit down to listen to the service. Those children have always had a deep place in my heart, because they're so respective to the Word. They--they just love the Word. I don't think that, that I call them my children, I don't think they're any better than other children. But they just look to me, and I look to God for them. "[An Absolute, SHREVEPORT LA, 63-1201M]

My sister and brother were baptized on the tape "Water Baptism" 3/29/59 and Bro. Branham refers to my aunt Helen Downing, grandmother Mrs. Ungren on tape "Christ Is the Mystery" 7/28/63. Also my uncle is Morris Ungren that sang the song "Down from His Glory" that was one of Bro. Branham's favorite songs that he refers to on the tape "Absolute" 12/1/63.

"I certainly appreciate that song Brother Ungren just sang: "Down From His Glory." If He hadn't have come from His glory, where would we all be tonight? So we're thankful that He come down to help us."[The First Seal, JEFF IN, 63-0318]

My family feel and were privileged to be called his friends. A friend of the Prophet, words cannot begin to tell.

Your Sister In Christ,
Deborah Patterson

I personally never met Brother Branham; I was too young. But my pastor sure did! My precious pastor is now 90 years old.
He told us how when he was recently saved, he heard the Voice of the Lord say to him, “Go and sit at the feet of Brother Branham.” That’s exactly what my pastor did.
Pastor Frank Pais drove his car all the way from Massachusetts to Indiana, to attend Brother Branham’s meetings. Praise God that he did, for our sakes (those taught by Pastor Pais).
Frank Pais always remained so pleased that he actually got the opportunity to shake Brother William Branham’s hand! What a blessing that must have been!
Pastor Pais taught us a great deal about Brother Branham’s Messages. Frank Pais was enlightened by the Holy Spirit in his own right (in my opinion), which made him a very effective teacher.
I say “was,” because Frank Pais now resides in a nursing home, where he is suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease. The progressive disease began about 6 years ago.
Thank God, and thank Brother Branham, and thank you, Pastor Frank Pais for touching our lives with the love of the Lord. We don’t know where we’d be without you.
Robert Rousseau, Danvers, Massachusetts.

I pray that my testimony will be a blessing to all those who read it. It proves that God can take a sinner and change their life.

As a little girl I always wanted to go to church, my parents weren’t Christians so I would walk to a church near our home and go by myself. When I was about nine years old I went up front and shook hands in the Baptist church and was baptized but there was no power to keep me so I soon went back to my old ways. At 13 years of age, I did the same thing at the Church of Christ.

I was sixteen when I got married and by eighteen I had two children. My son James was 5 months old in the summer of 1947 when I started having heart problems. I was taken to the hospital and diagnosed as having rheumatic fever. I was in the hospital for a week and while I was there they discovered that I was expecting again. The doctor wanted me to have an abortion as he said it was too dangerous for me to carry and deliver this child. I refused and went home and my sister came stay with me, as I could do nothing at all. I was allowed to sit in a chair for three hours in the morning and another three hours in the afternoon and had to stay in bed for the rest of the time. I didn’t have any trouble and on March 3, 1948, I had Kerry, a healthy baby boy.

In April of that year, my sister was invited to a revival at the local Assembly of God church by a neighbor. My sister was then saved and baptized. It was a glorious revival and many were saved. She kept asking me to go, but I kept refusing. After the revival meetings were over I decided to go one time so she would stop pestering me. I went to a Sunday night service, and the church was packed. My sister sang in the choir and when they got through singing they had to stay in the choir loft, as there was no room for them to sit. The pastor was preaching that night and I was so under conviction that I wished he would stop preaching so I could go to the altar. When the time came, I gave my baby to the people next to me (who I didn’t know at all) and practically ran to the altar. The next day my sister, the neighbor, and I were sitting around the kitchen table praising the Lord when all of a sudden a new language came from my lips, I didn’t know anything about the Holy Ghost but the neighbor said I had received it. Their teaching was unknown tongues is the evidence of the Holy Ghost, but we now know that’s not the evidence. The next Sunday afternoon they were going to baptize all those who were saved during the meeting. The river was not far from our house so I walked down, not intending to be baptized. I didn’t even take a change of clothes. But after they had baptized all the new converts I walked into the river and was baptized and I walked home dripping wet.

A short time after that, I was in church when I started having trouble breathing and having troubles with my heart. I didn’t want to interrupt the sermon, so I got up and walked outside. My sister saw me leave and came out also, when she what was happening she went out and brought out the pastors wife and they took me next door to the parsonage, anointed me oil, and prayed for me and I never had any more problems.

I soon found out that I was expecting again and couldn’t go to church much since church was a 3-mile walk from home. Soon afterward we moved to a house that was too far away to walk to church so I wasn’t going at all. Soon I got so cold and I backslid. On Sundays, at that time, the only radio programs you could get were preaching and gospel and my husband even though he was a sinner, loved gospel music. I would be so under conviction that I would have to go outside, and if the weather was bad, I would go sit in the outhouse so I wouldn’t have to listen to the radio.

In May 1951, we boarded a train for California with only our 4 children, our clothes, and very little money. Everything was going good, my husband got a good job, and we soon moved to our own place. In the early part of 1952, I met a lady and she told me she went to the Assembly of God church. I made a mistake of telling her I used to go to that church. Needless to say, she kept asking me to go to church with her but I kept refusing but I did send the children to Sunday School with her. In November 1952, she told me about the evangelist Oral Roberts and said that he was bringing his big tent to a town near us…and asked me if I wanted to go. She told me she was going in the prayer line to be healed so I decided to go. The first night I was under such conviction till I folded my arms across my chest real tight so I wouldn’t raise my hand during the altar call. The next night I went again and did the same thing. Then God spoke to me and said “If you don’t accept me this night, you’ll never get another chance” so I got up and ran to the altar. I was saved that night and was only 24 years old at the time.

I started going to Assemblies but after awhile was not completely satisfied so over the years went to different churches some independent and some Pentecostal denominational. I seemed to be always searching for something. My husband was saved in 1961. It wasn’t easy serving the Lord alone all those years and taking all six children to church.

In January 1965, my friends told me they were going to Phoenix to the Full Gospel Men’s Convention and told me Oral Roberts would be one of the speakers. She also mentioned that a Bro. Branham would be there, but I had never heard of him, so I went with her to hear Bro. Roberts. When Bro. Branham came out to preach, he said “Good Evening Friends” and I knew right away that there was something special about him. He started calling out people and telling them who they were, where they were from and what their problem was. I had never witnessed anything like that before. When we heard that he was to be at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles in April of 1965, we decided to go. He preached “Choosing of a Bride” and what a sermon that was. We finally went back to the Assemblies and was living in the parsonage next to the church. I was getting more and more discouraged with the church. I was praying for the Lord to make a way for us to move. I knew the Lord had to convince my husband to move if it was going to come to pass.
In November 1972, Clyde had a few days off so he said he would fly over to Tucson and if the Lord provided him with a job, we would move. I prayed the whole time he was gone. But when he came back and I asked if he had found one, he said “Not exactly, and my heart fell. But then he said, “Bro. Billy Collins offered me a rent free apartment with utilities paid if we would manage his 32 unit apartment complex” and to my surprise he accepted the offer.
This testimony is only being given to magnify our Lord. He gets all the glory. God Bless all of you.
